Roblox Image ID Not Working
Check the ID, image field, visibility, size and overlapping elements. Our local Studio checks distinguish loading failures from hidden images.
1. Check the source and the exact ID
Open the Roblox source from the card. Compare its number with the number you copied. A changed thumbnail URL does not establish that Roblox deleted the resource. We did not reproduce a deleted or unavailable source in this local check.
2. Match the resource to the field
Keep the card’s Image or Decal type in mind. In our local client, rbxassetid://8073107254 in ImageLabel.Image returned a failed preload and IsLoaded=false. Replacing it with its verified Image ID, rbxassetid://8073107221, returned Success and displayed the picture. This is a result for this pair and field, not a rule for every game input.
Do not turn a Decal ID into an Image ID by adding or subtracting a number. Use a related ID only when its relationship has been verified.
3. Check the input format
An asset URI uses rbxassetid:// directly before the ID. We tested that exact URI and an empty Image field; clearing the field made the image blank and IsLoaded=false. Arbitrary malformed inputs were not tested. Some games expect digits instead; follow their own field instructions.
4. Check the element’s display settings
In your own Studio project, select the ImageLabel and check these settings one at a time. We reproduced these cases in the local client using diagnostic commands, then restored the settings:
- Visible: false hid the element; true restored it.
- ImageTransparency: 1 hid the picture but left its white background; 0 restored the picture.
- Size: zero width and height hid it; 200 × 200 restored its size.
- Overlapping elements: an opaque Frame at the same position with ZIndex=10 covered the image at ZIndex=1. Removing that Frame revealed it.
The image remained IsLoaded=true in all four display cases. A loaded image can still be invisible. Check its parent ScreenGui is enabled and its position is on screen; disabling the parent and off-screen positioning were not separately tested.
5. Check creator and experience permissions
Roblox distinguishes Open Use from Restricted resources. A creator may be allowed to use a resource while a published experience still needs its own grant. Our sample was assessed as Open Use, so a Restricted-asset grant or denial was not applicable to this test. We did not change any grants or reproduce a permission error.
If Output shows an access error, follow Roblox’s Asset privacy instructions for the actual resource and experience. Avoid assuming every loading failure is a permission problem.
6. Check the experience’s limits
Inputs in specific games remain untested. A game can restrict custom images, formats or accepted resource types. Check its instructions and compare a known working resource in the same field. Read the actual Output message rather than guessing the cause.
